The Daley Grind
A survival guide explaining how I made it through The University of Southern Mississippi’s BFA graphic design program.
For this assignment, I was tasked with developing a survival guide for my sophomore self that would explain the steps I took and the trials I underwent in order to make it through the USM graphic design program. I took this as a “what would I tell my younger self” type of approach, and designed it in a way that would work best for me to retain information. A coach’s playbook with brutal, honest vernacular and speech patterns is the approach I decided to take when designing this publication. The book’s title comes from my last name, “Daley”, and creates a pun from the familiar saying of design being a daily grind.
